Federal authorities have unsealed a staggering indictment detailing a violent, premeditated armed robbery and kidnapping targeting rap icon Gucci Mane, allegedly orchestrated by his own signed artist, Pooh Shiesty, just months after Shiesty’s release from federal prison. The meticulously planned ambush, which occurred in a Dallas recording studio on January 10, 2026, has resulted in federal kidnapping charges against nine individuals, including Shiesty’s father and fellow rapper Big 30.
Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, traveled to Dallas under the pretense of a legitimate business meeting to discuss recording contracts. Upon entering the studio, he and two associates were confronted by nine armed men. Federal affidavits state Pooh Shiesty, wearing an ankle monitor from a prior conviction, brandished an AK-style pistol and forced Gucci Mane to sign contract termination paperwork.
